Please join us for Week Two of Pastor Derek’s sermon series, Stung by the Tongue. This week we will be looking at Harnessing Hearsay. We are the lens through which most people see Jesus. If we don’t allow our tongues and hearts to be tamed and discipled, we paint a poor and unappealing view of Christianity. This week we will be sharing steps on how to keep gossip out of our lives.

This week Pastor Derek starts our new Sermon Series, Taming the Tongue. Scripture teaches us that taming the tongue is a discipleship issue as what comes from our tongue originates from our hearts. When we control what comes out of our mouths we will eventually change the states of our hearts.

Pastor Derek is closing out our series, The Best Year Ever, by helping us take to heart Paul’s words to renew and renovate our minds. We spend our lives limited by what we perceive as our weaknesses and mistakes. Just like you can’t stop a golfer who can escape the bunker, you can’t stop a Christian who knows whose they are.

In week three of the series “The Best Year Ever”, Pastor Derek shares with us that Jesus models for us holy habits that show us how to create healthy community and sacrificial service. The power of sacrificial service roots us in Christian Discipleship that sets the totality of our lives in order as it allows us to be part of the prayers of others.
