welcome to our Children's Ministry
ROswell Kids
Roswell Kids children's ministry offers a safe, welcoming, FUN environment dedicated to helping our smallest members experience and explore God's love.

Explore Story Hour:
Preschool - Kindergarten
Rising preschoolers and kindergartners and their families are invited to Story Hour on the Commons each Tuesday in June and July from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. We'll enjoy reading a book together and then complete a craft.
Registration is not required. We look forward to seeing you!

Created by God
Each year Roswell Kids offers a human sexuality workshop for our fifth graders. We will discuss and learn about God’s wonderful creation of their bodies, the changes they experience during adolescence, and intimacy with God and with fellow humans. It is important that your fifth graders have scientifically accurate and Biblically-based information on these important topics.
Note: This event will be in-person on the Roswell UMC campus. This same workshop will be offered again next year for both fifth and sixth graders for those who are unable to attend in-person events at this time.
Date and time: April 25, 1- 6 p.m. Kids should eat lunch with their family prior to arriving.
What: During this workshop, we will discuss God’s wonderful creation of our bodies, anatomy, puberty changes, relationships, and social media.
Fun breaks: We will have a long game break during the middle of the day along with a few other small breaks to help with the seriousness of this topic.
Who will lead? Roswell Kids staff members will teach this curriculum. Adult and teen mentors will help lead small group discussions.
Will boys and girls be split up? They will spend most of the sessions together, but will be divided out during our discussion of anatomy and puberty changes.
Cost: $40 – this includes take-home participant books, goody bag, snacks, and supplies. Scholarships are available if needed. Please contact Lorin Tate, ltate@rumc.com.
Dinner: We will be offering an optional cook-out dinner on the Commons after the workshop from 6 - 7 p.m. It's a great way to show the kids that they have a big community of faith believers who are here to support them and walk through life with them. It will also be a way to celebrate our fifth graders before they transition to youth. The kitchen will prepare the meal and each family will sit together as a family unit.
COVID Precautions: Everyone will have their temperatures checked upon arrival. Everyone will be masked except for outside events such as a snack break. Children and leaders will be socially distanced as well as possible in the Fellowship Hall.
Questions: Lorin Tate, ltate@rumc.com, 770-261-1701.
Please register by Wednesday, April 21 so we can prepare supplies.
Created by God Parent Meeting - Required
This is a time for parents to hear what your child will be learning, understand how you can be involved, for you to ask questions, and for you to make a final decision on whether you want your child to attend.
There will be two parent information meetings and parents must attend one. Join us on Wednesday, April 14 from 6- 7 p.m. in the Dining Room or Sunday, April 18 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. in the Dining Room. Please sign up at the link below so we know when to expect you.

Be the Light of Christ in the World
Matthew 5:14-16 reminds us to shine our light for all to see! In this spirit, Roswell Kids invites you to share the light of Christ with the world.
Join the Challenge
Each month there will be a new challenge to complete. All that participate in the Sparks of Light initiative will be invited to a celebration at the end of the year. Those that participate in six or more of the challenges will be recognized.
April's challenge: MUST Ministries
This month, we are exploring how we can share. You are invited to share peanut butter with the Must Ministries Summer Lunch Program. You can drop it off at the Roswell UMC’s front office during the week or on Sundays.
After you’ve completed the challenge, be sure to tell us what you did so we can celebrate with you!

Wonder Wednesdays
We will meet on the Roswell UMC Commons (greenspace between the buildings) and engage in Bible story, worship, games, and crafts. During our time together, we will be exploring how we can change the world with lovingkindness.
Children should wear a mask, already have sunscreen on, and bring a water bottle labeled with their name. Children will be required to wear a mask when we are engaging in close, small group discussion or activities. They will be allowed to remove their masks for activities in which we are spaced out and when we’re eating/drinking. We will give specific directions regarding mask wearing during the event.
Temperatures will be taken upon arrival. Parents must check-in and check out their child at the designated area. We will have 30 spots each day.
We will gather for lunch at the end of the day. We will spread out on the commons to enjoy our lunch. You may pack your child’s lunch or purchase a boxed lunch of chicken nuggets, mac ‘n cheese, and fruit salad from the kitchen.
Rising first – third graders are invited to participate in Wonder Wednesdays at Roswell UMC on the first and third Wednesdays of the month (June 2, June 16, July 7, and July 21) from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Rising fourth - fifth graders are invited to participate in Wonder Wednesdays at Roswell UMC on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month (June 9, June 23, July 14, and July 28) from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Families can sign up for more than one week as their schedule allows and as spots are available.

Join us for an afternoon of free-wheelin’ fun and worship on Sunday, May 2, from 2-3 p.m.
Preschool – 5th graders. bring your bikes, trikes, skates, and any other wheeled fun (non-motorized). We’ll wheel around the Sanctuary parking lot and join together for a time of worship and prayer.
While the kids are wheeling, parents will gather around for a time of fellowship (while remaining socially distanced). You are welcome to bring chairs or blankets. Masks and helmets are required.
