Peace and HEALING
Changing lives through caring acts
From support groups to GriefShare, prayer teams to Share-A-Dish, RUMC is here to provide love, care, and support no matter what challenge you or a loved one may face.
The RUMC serve team is here to support our congregation, their families, and our community through times of hardship, challenge, or change.
Campus Emergency Response Team
If you have a medical background and would be willing to use your gifts to respond to medical emergencies that may occur during worship services and campus events, we hope you will consider joining our CERT (campus emergency response team). Volunteer HERE.
Volunteers and their dogs visit local assisted living communities and Vickery Mill Elementary School to bring joy and companionship. The ministry also hosts a Blessing of the Animals ceremony each year. If you have a small or medium-sized dog and would like more information about joining the Pet Ministry, contact us today!
Prayer Quilt Ministry
This ministry gives the gift of a quilt to an individual going through serious illness or challenging circumstances. The quilt is placed on the altar during worship; those in worship are invited to offer a prayer while placing hands on the quilt or by tying a knot in the ribbon attached to the quilt. Reach out to participate.
Card Writing Ministry
Each week volunteers send handwritten notes of care and concern to members who are going through illness, loss of a loved one, or celebrating the birth of a child. All materials are provided, reach out if you’d like to help!
Share-A-Dish – During a time of need such as an illness, returning home from the hospital, or after the death of a loved one, our volunteers will deliver a ready-made-meal to your home.
