Planning Ahead
RUMC Shoe Drive for Roswell Day of Hope: Help us serve our community by donating NEW shoes for people in need. Donations will be collected until Sunday, September 20 in the lobbies of the Sanctuary and the Chapel. The shoes will be distributed during the Roswell Day of Hope event at Roswell City Hall on Saturday, September 26. For more information, visit hoperoswell.org or contact gcantu@rumc.com. Scouting For Food: Help stock the food pantry shelves at North Fulton Community Charities. Members of RUMC’s Scout troops will be outside the Sanctuary building on Sunday, September 20 and 27, to receive your donations. For a complete list of items needed, go to rumc.com/drive.
The Dementia Caregivers’ Support Group, facilitated by the Dementia Spotlight Foundation, meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. The next meeting is Thursday, September 24, in the Dining Room, Chapel building. Pre-registration is not required. CaraVita Home Care will provide one hour of care, at no cost, at RUMC for care receivers during the meeting. Malone Dodson Memorial Golf Tournament: Help support the operating budget of the RUMC Foundation, Inc., at this year’s annual golf tournament on Monday, September 28, at the Country Club of Roswell. Visit rumcf.org/events for more information and to register.
Community and Fellowship Lunch: Join us for lunch on Tuesday, September 29, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Dining Room, Chapel building. Meals are $8 each with a $35 family meal take-out option. All are welcome.
Men’s Breakfast: Join us for the next Men’s Breakfast on Thursday, October 1. Full hot breakfast begins at 6:45 a.m. in the Dining Room, Chapel building.
Ways to Serve
Drake House: Be part of a meaningful ministry to the Drake House! On the second Monday of each month, RUMC volunteers pick up prepared, individually packed meals from the church kitchen and deliver them to the Drake House. For more information, go to rumc.com/serve.
MUST Neighborhood Pantry: We will serve our neighborhood on Monday, October 5. This ministry provides food to 250 families every month. Volunteers are needed. For more information, contact Scotty Brewington at scotty@marketjet.com.
The Young Apprentice Construction Club is looking for volunteers to help encourage and mentor young people as they learn valuable construction skills and make a difference in our community. We are grateful to City Antiques and Interior Arts (700 Holcomb Bridge Rd, Suite 100) in Roswell for generously providing our Missions Booth space at no cost to the church. For more than 20 years, the Missions Booth has turned donated antiques, vintage items, and treasures into support for missions.
