This Week at RUMC

Men’s Breakfast: Join us for the next Men’s Breakfast on Thursday, September 3. Full hot breakfast begins at 6:45 a.m. in the Dining Room, Chapel building.

Children’s Choir: Weekly rehearsals have resumed from 6-6:45 p.m. for children in Pre-K (age 4 by 9/1/26) through 5th grade. Contact Kelly Hall at kellywhall@gmail.com for more information or to register.

Planning Ahead

RUMC offices will be closed on Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.

MUST Neighborhood Pantry: We will serve our neighborhood on Tuesday, September 8. This ministry provides food to 250 families every month. Volunteers are needed. For more information, contact Scotty Brewington at scotty@marketjet.com.

RUMCK Preschool Consignment Sale: Join us on Friday, September 11, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and Saturday, September 12, from 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall to support the RUMCK preschool. The Dementia Caregivers’ Support Group, facilitated by the Dementia Spotlight Foundation, meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. The next meeting is Thursday, September 24, in the Dining Room, Chapel building. Pre-registration is not required. CaraVita Home Care will provide one hour of care, at no cost, at RUMC for care receivers during the in-person meeting. Ways to Serve

RUMC Giving Garden will host a workday Saturday, September 12, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Anyone interested is invited to join us as we prepare and plant our fall and winter crops, growing fresh food for those in need. RUMC Shoe Drive for Roswell Day of Hope: Help us serve our community by donating NEW shoes for people in need. Donations will be collected until September 19 in the lobbies of the Sanctuary and the Chapel. The shoes will be distributed during the Roswell Day of Hope event at Roswell City Hall on September 26. Assisted Listening Devices are now available for those who would benefit from enhanced sound during worship services. Devices may be picked up at the back of the Sanctuary near the sound board prior to the start of the service.

Year-to-date through July, RUMC has received $2,690,802 in income against $2,711,314 in expenses, leaving us $20,511 short for the year so far — a gap that narrowed nicely in July after a tougher spring. Giving has remained steady even as costs for facilities and ministry programs have grown. We’re grateful for this congregation’s continued generosity and remain hopeful, that with prayerful stewardship, giving will strengthen further in the months ahead. Looking ahead, we are a church with real potential to grow beyond simply balancing the books to investing boldly in our people, our programs, and our witness to the world.
