Street Teams: On May 12, RUMC will partner with Street Grace to take a team of 10-15 people into the community to minister to victims of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking. We will set up a tail-gating event at a local hotel where victims are housed to offer prayers, fellowship, and food. These events begin with a one hour training session at 10 a.m., set up at the hotel at 11, serve our guests, and head back to church around 12:15.  We plan to do this once each quarter in 2018. This is a special opportunity to share God’s love!!

Vickery Mill Elementary School After School Program

Vickery Mill Elementary School, located on Hwy. 9, is a brand new elementary school opened in Roswell just last year. Vickery Mill Elementary School has a good majority of children receiving free or reduced lunches. Action Ministries has partnered with the school to provide After School Programming for these children. RUMC and Chapel Roswell volunteers serve on Mondays and Thursdays from 3-5 p.m. at the Roswell Library to play, teach, and mentor to these students.

To find out more, contact Linda King at lking@rumc.com or 770-261-1750.

ACTION After School Programming empowers both children and their parents to overcome poverty through educational programming in: literacy, mathematic foundations, and social and emotional skills. Parents receive support to help them succeed in parenting, college/trade school, and the workplace.

How and where can I serve?
Whether down the street in Roswell, in downtown Atlanta, or around the globe, we are called to use our God-given, unique spiritual gifts to be stewards of God’s grace (1 Peter 4:10).  If you would like to discuss ways you can serve or need more information on serving in any area, please contact Linda King at lking@rumc.com

How do I know where I should serve?
Each of us receives special gifts when we accept Christ as our Savior.  As Christians, it is a privilege to serve Him through our church as the body of Christ within our own community and beyond. We encourage you to explore your own Gifts by sampling different opportunities inside and outside the church. By identifying your gifts and passions you will be able to find the opportunities to fulfill God’s purpose for your life.
If you need help finding opportunities, contact Linda King at lking@rumc.com or 770-261-1750.
