Roswell United Methodist Church
814 Mimosa Boulevard
Roswell, Georgia 30075
We are a church with over 7,000 members, one of the largest in the United Methodist North Georgia Conference. We have a staff of over 90, including seven clergy, all lead by Reverend Dr. Tom Davis. During his career, Dr. Davis served here as youth pastor, was reassigned for over twenty years, and then came back to us in June 2017. Click here to hear a Welcome Message from Dr. Davis.
The Chapel (Building B) above is what people see from Mimosa Boulevard which houses our church offices, classrooms, kitchen, Fellowship Hall, Columbarium, and a number of meeting rooms. Sunday Chapel Roswell services are held here and, on the first Sunday of the month, our 8:15 a.m. Communion service. Weddings and funerals are typically held here as well.
We were founded in 1836 and located in a log cabin at the Roswell Cemetery site. Outgrowing that, the church moved to what is now the Masonic Hall, next to the fire station on Highway 9. The current Chapel building was built in 1921, but was essentially rebuilt two times when damaged by fires. For a full history of our church, click here.
Here is a map of our campus.
Below it are pictures or our main buildings with information about what's in them.
This is our Sanctuary (Building A), built in 1986 and refurbished in 2015. You get to it via Thomas Street via Magnolia Street or Pratt Street via Mimosa Boulevard. Worship is "in the round" format, which can seat over 2,000 people. Sunday services include our 9:30 a.m. "Welcome Home" Contemporary service and 11:00 a.m. Traditional service which features our 100 voice choir led by Dr. Michael Cromwell.
The Sancturary building also houses our Worship Arts department, choir and music facilities, Charis Art Gallery, RUMCK preschool, Parents Morning Out (PMO), and numerous meeting rooms for Sunday School classes and groups. Michael O'Neal Singers are also based and perform here.
The three south-side entrances in this picture all have portico roofs covering them.
The entrance on the far left is to our preschool, childcare, nursery facilities, and childrens' music programs.
The center entrance (large roof), up the steps, is the main entrance to our sanctuary narthex.
The right entrance in the picture is to the elevator.
There are also entrances on the west side (Worship Arts), north side and east side.
This is the Dodson Youth Center (Building D). "The Dod" houses our Student Ministry: children from middle school through high school. We also host Senior Enriched Living (SEL) classes here year round.
The picture is taken from the intersection of Thomas Street and Pratt Street. The primary entrance to the building is at the far right and parking is available behind the building and at the corner lot at the Magnolia and Mimosa intersection.
This is the Counseling Center (Building C), located at the far end of the Sanctuary south parking lot. This is where we host a number of support groups and also counseling services from professional, independent practitioners. In addition, the local Habitat for Humanity has their offices here. To get there, enter the campus via Thomas Street or Pratt Street, go to the Sanctuary south parking lot and then to the far end.
