Exhibit Spaces at RUMC

In the Dining Room and the Trinity Cafe (Building B), there will be ongoing exhibitions of artwork from church members and community members.  Apostles Gallery will permanently house the complete set of Apostle paintings while Charis Gallery will showcase invitational exhibitions (Building A).

Exhibits will be varied.  They may include one person shows, children's artwork, favorite collections of the congregants, themed artwork, liturgical art, and more.  As faith-inspired art is not limited, a variety of art styles will be represented such as contemporary, realistic, impressionistic, and abstract.  May all of the art encourage the believer, reach the seeker, and give glory to God.

The word Charis (khar'-ece) comes from the ancient Greek word for favor or grace but is perhaps most accurately rendered by the concept of goodwill.

Charis Gallery, established in August 2010, is located in the hallway west of the South Narthex. It also extends into the Welcome Center where 3-dimensional art will be displayed. The exhibits in this gallery will be by invitation only and will, at times, be juried.  Expect to see a variety of mediums including wood, mosaic, metal, folk art, photography, painting, mixed media, and more.  Next to each piece, the observer will be able to read about the artist's inspiration as well as related scripture.  This additional element will further the understanding and appreciation of each work of art.  May God, the Creator and source of all inspiration, receive the glory through Charis Gallery.
