The Sounds of the Spirit Concert Series was established for the purpose of glorifying God through the gift of music. Through the presentation of nationally recognized artists and choral presentations, it is the goal of this ministry to enrich the cultural and spiritual life of the community and share the message of the Christian faith.
SONGS OF BROTHERHOOD Sunday, Apr. 29, 2018 at 4 p.m. in the RUMC Chapel Baritone, Brent Davis, joined by local favorite tenor, Timothy Miller and pianist, Tom Alderman invites you to join them on a musical journey exploring brotherhood through songs of trials and tribulations, and faith, hope and love. Contemporary, classical, folk and baroque selections will be offered including the beautiful Pie Jesu duet by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Giuseppe Verdi's Don Carlo duet for tenor and baritone, Stouthearted Men by Sigmund Romberg, and Poor Wayfaring Stranger by Karl Jenkins as well as original music by special guest, Atlanta-based singer/songwriter, Mark Miller. Tickets are not needed for this concert.
PATRIOTIC CELEBRATION CONCERTS Friday, June 29, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 3 p.m. in the RUMC Sanctuary For the finale to the 2016 - 2017 Sounds of the Spirit Concert season, the 110-voice RUMC Sanctuary Choir and the 52-member Atlanta Wind Symphony join forces to raise this inspiring musical tribute to our great nation, honoring her heritage of freedom and the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces. Program highlights include choral performances of Battle Hymn of the Republic, God Bless America, America the Beautiful and other favorite patriotic classics. Each year the Armed Forces Salute honoring Veterans and Active Duty Military personnel brings the audience to its feet. With attendance annually numbering in the thousands, these themed concerts have become a notable event in the metro Atlanta area. Join us for this rousing celebration of all that makes our nation great. Tickets are complimentary but necessary to ensure seating.
