The Walk – Bible Study

<p>Isaiah 40:31 tells us that “those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Yet, sometimes we can feel a little spiritually out of shape. We want to keep up with where Jesus is leading us but it seems challenging. When we find ourselves struggling to keep up on a walk, a run, or a hike, we often commit to exercise so that we can grow stronger and build up our stamina. Our spiritual life is no different. We need spiritual practices that help us grow in faith, stay connected to God, and strengthen us for the journey.</p>
<p> In the Gospels, Jesus models for us the Christian spiritual life. The apostles teach it in their writings and the church throughout the ages has engaged in practices whose purposes are to help people put their hope and trust in Christ. In <i>The Walk</i> by Adam Hamilton, we look at five essential practices that Jesus models for us in Scripture. Practices that are grounded in His own relationship with God. We will explore these five practices and what it looks like to use them in our daily walk with Jesus as well as with our families and together in the church. </p>
