Attire to Hire
RUMC Job Networking offers a unique service for job seekers – donated “interview-ready” professional attire for attendees.
From our “Attire to Hire” boutique closet, you can select clothing so that you are polished from head to toe, and ready for that most important, face-to-face interview with the hiring manager. This is totally free to the job seeker.
“Attire to Hire” has served 4100+ job seekers since its inception in 2011 thanks to the generosity of our donors.
How can you help?
Interview-ready attire is needed for RUMC Job Networking’s “Attire to Hire” Boutique Closet.
We are low on men’s and women’s shoes and handbags.
Women (Professional, plus size attire is particularly needed.)
- Black dress pants, all sizes
- Women’s tops for an interview – solid-color shells, blouses, or shirts that can be worn under business jackets
- Suits or business separates such as jackets, solid skirts and pants in any size, that are “up-to-date” in style
- Gently used handbags, slim briefcases or computer bags, scarves, and close-toed dress shoes
Men (All men’s clothing sizes must be clearly marked.)
- Suits or dark sport coats, especially navy blazers
- Dress shirts of all sizes
- Ties and men’s belts
- Dress shoes that are gently worn
Clothing must be current in style, cleaned and pressed, on hangers, and clearly marked as to the size. We appreciate donations but ask that you keep in mind that all attire must be interview-ready. The majority of our clients do not have funds for dry cleaning.
Donations: During RUMC Job Networking hours or by appointment only. (The church office will not accept donations.)
During RUMC Job Networking:
Donations are accepted from 4–8 p.m. on the nights we meet for RUMC Job Networking. (Meetings are the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month.) Please check our website before coming at rumcjobnetworking.com.
We will gladly take what we need and you can take the rest to another charity of your choice. **We have very limited space and our needs change often so we can only take what is currently needed. Thanks for your understanding.**
If you are not able to come during the Job Networking hours, please contact Donna Litton at 678.358.8050 or firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a time to meet with Donna or a volunteer.
Donations are only accepted on meeting nights or via arrangements made with Donna Litton. The church office will not accept donations.
Donated clothing must be:
- Interview appropriate, current style
- Dry-cleaned or new
- On clothes hangers
We will not be able to accept donations that are not interview ready. We cannot accept casual clothing. We have very limited space and our needs change often. We can accept only what is currently needed.
We will provide a tax donation form when you drop off your items. You can’t imagine how much our clients need and appreciate your assistance. Many of our job seekers have been out of the workplace for some time and they need our donations and guidance. Thank you for truly making a difference in our local community.
We want to thank the organizations below for their time and effort in putting together clothing drives for the Attire to Hire Closet. We appreciate all you do for the RUMC Job Networking Ministry!
