Noah's Ark Sunday School Class:
Roswell United Methodist Church is unique among area churches in that we support a vibrant ministry for an under-served segment of our population: developmentally disabled adults. Our Noah's Ark Class, established more than 20 years ago, ministers to more than 30 of these special people. We should be proud that our laity, staff, and clergy have so enthusiastically supported this group. Class members eagerly arrive each Sunday to share their news and hugs with each other and our volunteers. After feeding our bodies, we feed our souls with singing, crafts, videos, and Bible lessons. Enthusiastic interaction mingles with an overwhelming sense that each Sunday, for one brief hour, we are witnessing the display of God's unconditional love. The depth of concern for each other brings to mind a line from the movie, "Radio." Talking about the disabled title character, Coach says, "Radio treats us all the time the way we wish we treated each other even some of the time." We feel blessed spending our Sunday mornings with such special friends. Noah's Ark members have shared during both worship services as they greeted, ushered, served as acolytes, and blessed us with the Noah's Ark Handbell Choir.
